I'm a London-based photographer, trained in the Fine Art of Shebanging, by top New York headshot photographer, Peter Hurley.
I was obsessed with photography from an early age. Growing up in the middle of the countryside in N.Ireland, as my most readily available subjects were fields (and possibly being a bit of a Daddy's girl), my early years were focused on landscape photography.
When I went on my first trip abroad to Uganda, I fell in love with portrait photography. I love the reaction you get when sharing the portrait you've taken. Transcending cultural, linguistic, and whatever other barriers you want to throw in. Digital photography allows you to instantly share your perspective, show someone how you see them, having captured who they are in that moment of time.
Since then, I continually strive to become a better photographer with each shot I take. This isn't simply about being technically better, that helps, but for me, taking your headshot is more about connecting with you, drawing out your personality and making the camera disappear.
"It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera...they are made with the eye, heart and head." - Henri Cartier-Bresson
I get a real buzz from meeting new clients, and guiding you from looking like a terrified bunny in the headlights (or soft boxes, to be more accurate), to look confident, approachable and hopefully, with a twinkle of mischief in your eyes.
Making sure that you have fun, feel good, and end up with a photo that exceeds your expectations.
That's what drives me every time I pick up my camera.
